Week 2 - missing information.

Belmore Blogging:

3 ideas that came out of the reading were:

Experimenting:
The Belmore blog is used for a number of things, one of which is science related. Students report findings from experiments conducted in class time and discuss these with other students who have access to their blog, some of which come from all over the world. This discussion encourages students to think deeply and reflect upon scientific concepts while at the same time as refining their communication skills.

Creative writing:
Similar to the discussion on experiments, students at Belmore South have the opportunity to provide feedback upon one another on their creative writing tasks while it is in the draft format. Furthermore, the feedback is not limited to those in their own class and school but any other student around the world.

Global Connections:
This is one of my favorite ideas from the reading.
It investigates how students from an Australian school were able to share knowledge of their countries history with students from Scotland. I thought this was great because it gave the chance for the students to become the experts as they were able to provide specific answers to questions posed by the overseas students. I particularly liked this is as it is well known that teaching is one of the best ways to both learn and consolidate knowledge.
